Link colors in the forum...
Posted by Lufbery on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 2:39 PM
Here's a suggestion that ought to be a quick fix: how about changing your HTML code so that visited links show up as a different color than unvisited links?

I can't tell you how many times I've clicked on a link I just visited because I couldn't tell I had just visited it. For example, I'll click on the "techniques " link, read through some stuff there, hit my back button, and then forget if I was in "techniques" or "painting and airbrushing," so I hit "techniques" again.

I'll do the same thing with message heads too. So, how about letting us see which topics and threads we've visited?

Regards,

They're not totally different colors now, but is there enough contrast between the two?

David,

I hardly see any contrast between visited and unvisited links. In fact, until I read this thread, I though you had decided to not change the colors. I can send you a screen shot if you want to see how it looks on my computers' screens.

How about some more contrast?

Thanks,

Have you refreshed your browser's cache recently? F5 on the PC. I'm just wondering if that would make a difference. (most likely not)

There is a difference, but I admit it's subtle. I'll play around a bit more with the contrast. I don't know if I want to use a totally different color or not.

Hi David,

I see it now on my home computer. I think the difference is subtle enough that that different monitor settings or differences in ambient light can wash it out.
