FSM November Issue - Sticky glue problem?
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, September 27, 2003 4:21 PM
Not sure if anyone else had this problem with the latest issue or if FSM is aware but:

In my issue, the sticky glue used for the MRC flyer has severe bleed through to the "Improved Intruder" article on the next page (2 lines running down the length of the page) Maybe the release agent for the glue?

Just a heads, up in case you use it again.

My copy of the Nov FSM also had the "bleed through" from the MRC ad onto the Intruder article. Seems a shame that this type of ad was attempted without more field testing.

Drat! I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for the heads-up--the pre-release copies of the magazine that we (editorial) received don't contain that ad. I'll pass this info on to the proper authorities.

Whoa! Someone who is actually into quality control? When was the last time you saw, or heard of, an example of someone who was interested in feedback from the customer and not to turn a healthy profit? This is just another example of why FSM is a quality product and has such a loyal following. Its also one of the reasons I've been a subscriber since 1985. Keep up the good work! As we used to say in the Navy: Bravo Zulu!

Mine also had the stain and discoloration. It is caused by the heat from when the glue is applied. One solution would be to print two or three subscription cards on one insert with a tag on the opposite side that these ads could be attached to. you could also two such ads in each issue (one on each side) without sacrificeing content.

Hey, thaks for the heads up on that sticky thing. Just got my copy and was on the look out for it. Both the 'flyer' and address label had it. Don't dispair, it can be used to hold tiny pices while glue sets and dosen't leave a residue (on plastic). There's always a silver lining, just have to look for it.Blush [:I]
