I am a tinkerer. I post something, then I read it, and go back and make corrections as necessary.
However, whenever I post something and then fix it (typos, brain farts, things I forgot to add, etc.), the message says that I've edited it. I wonder if that makes readers suspect that I've cut something out after they've initially read it.
I am on another board that handles it this way: if you post something, and then fix it, the only time that the "edited" message comes up is if someone else has posted something in the meantime. In other words, If I start a thread, and go in and fix a typo, it won't show up as edited unless someone else has posted a response. Same goes for responses -- my edits don't bring up the "edited" message unless someone has subsequently posted a response.
Oh, the shame, the SHAME of an "edited" message.
Just for your consideration.
(Look below -- I've done it again!)
