Do you get server errors while posting??

I seem to be getting them on a regular basis since the forum was revamped, pretty bloody annoying. I suppose I should learn to copy long posts before submitting.

It is especially bad this morning! I have spent the past ten minutes trying to get to a point where I could make a similarly titled post.

Here are the titles of some of the errors:

  • Multiple controls with the same ID 'csSearchBox' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs.
  • Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
  • Community Server expects to find a valid XML file containing all of the links for a community. By default, this file is located at the root of the with the name SiteUrls.config. A common error is that SiteUrls.config included unescaped XML characters, such as "&" when defining a querystring.

It has made using this forum impossible. I have to refresh each page two or three times before hitting the "lottery", and it took me three shots at using "quick reply" to post this!

So long folks!

I was getting the same error message when I tried to get into the forum topics.  I had to get out and retry several times to open a topic.  It took forever to read posts in the aircraft section.  I thought I was having a problem with my computer.

Yes, this was pretty rare on the old forum, but is more or less a daily problem now. It doesn't bother me so much when trying to load a page, but really get up my arse when posting & loosing what you intended to post.

I appreciate that copying posts prior to posting them is wise, but it seems a bit ridiculous to have to go "belt & braces" to post on a forum.

Maybe I should take a digital pic of the screen before I post in case my PC gives up the ghost. Maybe I should print off the page before posting it. Maybe I should handwrite the post on a notebook in case my printer ink fades. The "Others" on the forum (Mods, Devs...) should be able to diagnose & sort this issue without to much thought?

Bill

I have gotten a TON of those in the last few days.  Two days ago (I think) I literally could not navigate anywhere in the site.  Everything I clicked on resulted in one of those errors....

Yeah.... this new improved site rocks....

Hey everyone-

We're working on the server issue now. Thanks for the patience.

Great! That's good to know. YesBig Smile

I've resorted to copying everything I type when I'm posting they've become so frequent.
