Photo site suggestions?
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, May 7, 2010 10:15 AM

I am still looking for a good third party site to post pictures to link to for posting pics in my forum messages.  Friends have recommended Shutterfly for other purposes but they do not allow direct links, so that is out.

I could post them on my web site, and have done that, but it is a pain because I must edit the html and ftp both the new page and the photo.  Besides, I think I am approaching the limit my ISP provides for web pages.

So how about suggestions. I want a site that is free, and easy to use.

Don

I use photobucket (as do a lot of others on here, I think Confused).  I find it to be pretty easy to use, and the ability to post IMG codes into my messages here is very straight forward.

I echo Boyd's suggestion. Photobucket was my choice after trying out some of the others. There are many sites that offer free hosting, but some have some peculiar limits to what you can post. Some won't allow sig pics or emoticons to be linked (Flickr being one). Photobucket just asks that you keep them under a certain size, keep it clean and log in at least every thirty days to keep the account current.

So long folks!

I use Microsoft Windows Live (http://home.live.com/).  They give you 25 GB.  Uploading is easy and I just click on the picture until it is the only thing on the page, copy the address out of the bar and paste into the the "insert media" prompt here.

Thanks, guys. I tried Photobucket.  Lets see if this works.

Whoops, that doesn't seem to work right.  What am I doing wrong?

Okay, let's try it another way (using the icons).

Okay!  that seems to work better than typing in the [img] code manually.

Use the IMG tag, it's the one on the bottom. Just copy and paste.

So long folks!
