Blocking avatars and signatures?

Is there a way to avoid seeing avatars and, especially, signatures when viewing the forum? I know there is on the Scale Auto site and it is a very nice feature. I can't find such a thing here but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Any help would be appreciated.
