ship model cases
Posted by osmart on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 6:53 PM

hi

i see alot of ship modelers putting their models on a molded water presentation beds simulating water  to present their work instead of the old days when we just put them on the stands the models came with....

question for anyone who may know....  do you have to create these "sea beds" or are they manufactured for purchase and you customize them?  I am assuming they could be part of a presentation case, with a plastic covering....

could someone advise me how to do this?  thanks!!!

The modelers create their own bases, there are many ways of doing this.I have used acrylic gel medium, which can be sculpted, dries clear, and can be painted.it is available at art supply stores.i'm sure you will get a lot of thoughts on this.
