Let me try....

EDITED:

Works for me.  I just grabbed the [ IMG ] code from PhotoBucket and pasted it into a notepad window and then from there into here.

The actual text, with spaces embedded in the IMG tags, looks like this:

Write Post in Plain Text / BB Code & Images
Posted by benzdoc on Sunday, May 13, 2012 12:33 PM

Hello All,

I'm trying to learn how to write a post in plain text, and using BB Code to show photos but am having difficulty doing so. The reason is that linking / showing photos using the media panel is clunky and takes a long time, at least by my reckoning. I'm using Flickr (due to the demise of MobileMe) and digging out the image address takes several clicks anyway.

I'm trying to use BB Code as indicated by the Forum FAQ:

What is BBCode?

BBCode is a special implementation of HTML, offering great formatting control on particular objects in a post. The use of BBCode is granted by the administrator, but it can also be disabled on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML, but tags are enclosed in square brackets [ and ] rather than < and >. Some examples are:

text — for bolding
text — for italics
text — for creating links
link to image — for posting images

However, when I try to use this convention, all that appears is the text, not the photo. I've tried putting the BB Code into the HTML editor, however I get the same result.

What am I doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Being able to start a post in plain text and work on it over time would be a huge improvement over doing it in a web browser.

Best regards,

Mike
