Posting Pictures...Again
Posted by M9130 on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 1:17 PM

I just figured out how to embed pictures in a post with the old format, but unfortunately have not been able to get it to work with the new format.  I have a flickr page, and used to copy and paste the html code.
With the url format all I can embed is a link to the flickr page showing the pic, not an embedded pic itself.  (I am using the "share via URL" button on flickr).  Is flickr incompatible with the new format?  Is there something else I can do?  Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

- Phil

Try to click the "Use rich formatting" button...you can do it the same way you could before.

Figured out how to do it with flickr:  One can copy the picture either by by opening it as a temporary file or by opening it in the "all sizes page" and then copying and pasting it.  I like using the all sizes page because you can easily size the picture to the forum.  Note that you still can't copy pics directly from your hard-drive to the forum.

Keristtttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt. Here we go again. I just tried to post a pic in a forum, and it didn't work, so here I am. Sigh.

Using the little Insert Image widgit as we used to be able to do:

And now all I get is a fricking little box with a graphic gizmo in it. I don't want to expend the effort to puzzle this out. WHY must FSM constantly mess with things? Is it a deliberate effort to drive off the non-paying forum members? I'm really beginning to wonder.

Mfsob,

I have sent you a PM regarding this issue, but I'll post this again for anyone else still having problems posting photos.

First select "Use rich formatting." Then hit the insert image icon on the menu bar:

You'll see a pop-up box. Paste the direct link — NOT the IMC code — into the opening and hit insert. You'll see the image in the compose window.

Hope that answers the problems. I, and the rest of the FSM staff, afre happy to address anyone's concerns. If you have any other question, it might be helpful to look at the new Forum's FAQ page.

Cheers, Aaron
