my questions is how do I continue a single build post rather than create a "new post" each time I upload some build pictures?

You mean edit a post. Bottom left corner of your post is a little pencil icon. Use that to edit. But if you want to upload new build pics the best way is to make a new post. People will comment on your fist pics but then if you add more they might get get noticed in the same post as older ones.
