I currently have Chrome set as my default browser and have a bunch of desktop icons to web pages. FSM forums for example. Is there a way to have 1 single desktop icon open with IE?

I believe I can answer your question, the white bar at the top of the browser ( where the web link address is) contains the "bookmarks" icon. It appears as a white star when the page you are viewing is not marked, and gold when it is. Merely clicking on the star whilst on the page you want to bookmark will instantly mark it. If you do not see the bookmarks bar, go to the three horizontal bars on the side of the address bar, and click. You can choose "bookmarks" - "show bookmark bar". Hope that helps

Thanks for the response I am not referring to bookmarking a page. The sites I go to daily I have a shortcut icon on my desk top. Click the FSM icon and here I am at the forum. Same thing for Hyper Scale Is there a way to click 1 and have it open with Google Chrome and click the other and have it open with Internet Explorer?
Oh, i see (my bad!) I don't think a "one- click" operation is available to do that, all I'm used to is copy the web address from one browser window to the other.
- by the way, as a side note, why do you use two different browsers? Seems easier to only use one...
I next to never use IE browser, so not sure what version I have (must be the one that came with windows 7 - whichever that may be), but I took a look and was able to do what you are asking.
With the explorer browser open to the site you want thumb nailed to desktop, hit Ctrl - t . This will create a new tab with a window of thumbnails. Just click and drag the one you want to your desktop.

PP, The software my franchise uses for online scheduling simply does not work with anything but IE. In life it is hard to what is the worst of something. This is by far the worst piece of software I have ever used.
As often as I go into it i was hoping there would be a 1 click option to open it in IE while everything else opens in Chrome,e. And with Jack's help I can.
Thanks Jack, that worked great.
