The mods should move this thread to armor. Although the serious treads seem to have seen it, that's a better place for it.

Check your e-mail. I just sent you a link to a 1/48 scale Willys Jeep kit.
That Frog kit is a Chinese rebox of the Bandai Jeep kit. I have it and can scan a copy of the instructions to you. Eduard actually made a PE set for that Jeep kit in the 1990s, one of their first.
The Airfix Jeep with LVT Buffalo kit was in their standard 1/76 scale (although some releases magically became 1/72 when that scale gained popularity).
I picked up some old FROG (?) kits without instructions of a Jeep & Kubel for UKP£4.00 USD$6.00
in a scrabble-box under the counter at a model show, but couldn't say about the quality, not looked at it recently.
Best bet for quality & availability would be the Tamiya Infantry at rest, I picked up the Austin Tilly & it's a jewel.
I remember building the Airfix Jeep with the LVT IV Buffalo many moons ago, fun but the eyes aren't what they were...

the Baron Rob Gronovius the Baron Doesn't Tamiya have one as part of its 1/48 armor line, too? Yeah, and if you check my first post in this thread, you'll notice I recommend it and give a link to the kit. Thanks, Rob, sorry, I skimmed past your post.

Hasagawa makes a real nice one. its very detailed w/ a rifle, shovel and a couple of other things. I built it for my PBY Catalina. it really goes with it. It really shows the PBY's size

Interesting, I've seen the Airfix kit didn't know about the connection. It is a nicely detailed kit, esp since it's so tiny. Only issue as I said was the decals which were kinda blurry printing, I went ahead and used them though.
I gave the dio to a local vet so I don't have it anymore, the photos are on a DVD-rom somewhere...

Gamera Ahhhhhhhhh, thanks for the correction Rob. I looked for the Heller website and the Jeep kit I built is 1/72nd. Normally I build only 1/48th but I built the Jeep to go with a 1/72nd B-24 - my mistake!

That's a fairly recent kit, sort of a rebox of the Airfix kit. Not a true rebox per se; apparently Heller and Airfix are owned by the same parent company and they both released the Jeep and trailer, CCKW and LCVP at the same time.
Are you sure? Heller makes a post war Hotchkiss Jeep in 1/35 but I am unaware of them having a 1/48 scale one.
Heller makes a really nice Jeep in 1/48th too, built it some years ago and other than some dodgy decals it went together nicely with excellent detail. It comes with a small trailer too.
The cheapest, and one of the better ones, is the Jeep that comes "hidden" in the Tamiya set WW2 US Infantry at Rest. www.tamiyausa.com/.../wwii-us-infantry-at-rest-32552
Hasegawa?
I'm making a D-Day diorama and a 1/48 jeep would go great in it . Are there any kit manufactures that make one in this scale?
