roger that.  I just wanted to try it straight first, to be sure I wasn't screwing anything up.  Photo below is without second line;

np. remember you can delete the second two lines if you want to tidy it up and not have the "photo 1 by robertholocomb73 on flikr under enery photo.

AHA!  That seemed to work as advertised.  I will now go back and continue the blog.  Thaks very much for your help, talentless!

cheers, Bob

i DO NOT use the inset button at all. i copy and paste the four lines of code straight into the post.  make sure "use rich formatting" is selected at the bottom before you try and paste it in.

just left click the code for your pic in flikr, and the lines should highlight then copy and paste. see the pic i posted here for where to find it.

the 3rd and 4th line are not actually needed as they only display your name  the pic

all 4 lines

When I try that I get an error once I hit "Insert".  The error says "hostname could not be parsed".  I tried dropping off the intial characters before the letters "http" but no joy.  It seems like I am following the right procedure but it is not working.

Do you have to tell Flickr to accept incoming requests to see your photos?

i use flikr

this is how i post pics on here. i dont know how to flow text around the pics from flikr as you see on websites or books etc though. i thinks that is a different process, Doogs has a good site, maybe he would advise you.

Open the pic u want to share in flikr. There will be three icons in the lower right of the screen, one of them is "more ways to share" (looks like a box with a curved arrow pointing out of it). Click the icon an a new box will open. you will have the option of html or bbcode. for a "hotlink" select the html code radio button. If you want the pic to display in the post you want the "bb code " option. You will also have the option of which resolution you wish to use. I use the 1024*768 option to post pics here. Just copy the four (i think) lines of code supplied and paste them straight into your forum post, . The pic is "live" and when clicked in the forum post will open it in flickr where ppl can view the full res pic if they want. And do make sure you have the use rich formatting option selected as already noted. If this still makes no sense to you ( it didnt for me at first either) just say and i will do some screenshots of the process to walk you through it.

the code should look like this, i have altered it though to make it not display the pic so ut wont be identical

"ur=htt://www.flickr.com/photo  s/77084890@N04/9487569662/][imgttp://farm3.st  atiflickr.com/2839/9487569662_86173a33e8_b.jpg[/img][  /url] urlhtp://www.flickr.com/photos/77084890@N04/9487569662/]DSC02500url] by urlhtp://www.flickr.com/people/77084890@  N04/]omgpainful/url], on Flickr"

and this is how it should display. the first two lines show the pic, the second two add the text underneath and can be deleted if you wish.

It sounds like your doing the right thing, you must be using the 'Use rich formatting' link or you wouldn't have the insert image thread. As I know, using Flickr to post pics is the same as Photo Bucket

Well that seems to work ok, I can only assume its Flickr.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Posting Photos from Flickr
Posted by RCH73 on Saturday, October 5, 2013 4:00 PM

Folks:  I have a stupid question about posting photos.  I am trying to run a little blog here on progress on a B-29 build I am undertaking.  I prepared the text, then tried to insert a photo that I had stored on Flickr.  I first put the cursor in the spot where I wanted the photo to appear, hit the icon in the toolbar above that said  "insert Image", and pasted in the box the link to the image from my Flickr account.  I think that is the right process, but I can't see the image in my post.  I don't want to continue until I sort this out as I have three or four photos to post.

thanks, Bob
