question about replying to a forum posting
Posted by beeryboats on Friday, February 14, 2014 7:31 PM

I've started a few threads but some of them I cannot reply to a response. At the bottom of the post there is usually a box for text and a "reply" button. Sometimes there is no box, but there is still a "reply" button that does nothing. Can anyone explain the issue I'm having?

Well, it could be:

  1. you are not logged in to FSM (unlikely but?)
  2. you haven't  typed in any thing to "reply with"- that confuses the computer something fierce.
  3. you have been chosen to be a beta tester for an alien technology ( like number 1, unlikely)

Good Luck hope you get it figured out

In this case there is a white box for me to type a response. And there is a blue "reply" button when I'm done and ready to post. Sometimes there is no "white box". #1, I'm always logged in. #2 no white box, no way to type before hitting "reply" box. #3 never met an alien to date, still waiting so I can introduce them to Mexican food and save the human race.

My 2 cents. When there is no box, I usually hit reply and a box shows up. Then I type in the reply and hit Post. It usually works for me. Hope that this works for you.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

The reply box only appears under the last post of each page. Its basically the same as other forums who have a quick reply option. Unless you need to reply to a certain post with quotes, you just use the box at the bottom.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
