Have a problem with Photobucket
Posted by plasticjunkie on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 6:49 AM

I forgot my password so as I have attempted several times to re set it via their recovery page, nothing happens and I'm unable to access my account to post pictures here. I have attempted to contact them via email but I keep getting the same recovery page that nothing happens after clicking on reset password. There is no phone number listed anywhere so I can speak to someone. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I'm looking now and there's not an obvious link.  I clicked the online help link, and about the closest thing I can find is this topic:

support.photobucket.com/.../200724204-I-Can-t-Access-the-Email-Address-I-Signed-Up-With

As an IT professional, I can say that my experience is that online help often doesn't, and documentation is seldom written in a clear fashion for a typical user with perhaps little or no technical experience.

Baron, once you click on the recover my account tab it takes you to another page  where you enter the new password then click reset which doesn't do anything, just stops there.

Finally someone contacted me via email and is being worked on. They do not have live phone  support.  I switched over to ImageShack. Was reading that Photobucket has had some issues with junk getting in as malware in pop ups etc. I did see a few of those but never clicked on them not even to close them out.

The lady from Photobucket emailed me back and fixed the problem.

Like Stick said   PHOTO BLUNDER SUCKS, (sigh) but I also have too many pictures there, Now they want (are you ready?) 34.95 a YEAR!, for additional storage space. Time to look into another site, Pictures or not. I still have all mine backed up, just a hassle to swap sites.

Glad you got that sorted out, PJ. Is a miracle you heard back from a human being.

I havent had any issues with photobucket its self, but it made me update java once and I stupidly did it. Now my computer is plagued with pop ups and it changed all my homepages and settings around. I've tried everything to fix it but short of wiping it clean or a new computer, nothing has worked.

Sounds like your computer has a virus. Did you download that update from PB? Have you tried Malwarebytes anti malware?

It definitely had a virus. Luckily I was able to have my friend look at my computer and he fixed it. It is old but now it runs like new! Its super fast and doesnt have the past 4 years crap in its registry anymore! I highly suggest CCleaner. It helps a ton!

But did you download it from PB? There's a lot of crap that pops up while on PB but I don't click on it. Great that you took care of the problem.
