The Arado 196 was painted RLM65 undersides, Hard edge RLM72/73 uppers. The 72/73 color difference is minimal in contrast. Interior color was RLM02. This directive was carried on all seaplanes and maritime recon aircraft during the war. The prop blades are RLM70 and not black.

You might want to try asking this in the aircraft section, or possibly ship section, or maybe both.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I will soon be building the Graf Spee (1939)Most of the models ive seen the ar 196 is painted in the two tone green upper and lt. blue underside. But upon looking at some pics and a little reading I think the aircraft should be lt gray all over or like a battleship gray. Also has anyone seen the strange makings on the underside of the wings.Look almost round? Any info on this would be great. And what color is the camo pattern seen on the turrets and superstructure on the ship herself? Thanks Paul
