Posting a PDF file
Posted by Bakster on Thursday, April 7, 2016 8:45 PM

I have an article in PDF format that I would like to post. I do not have a web page that I could just link to it. Is there a way for me to do this?

Where is the PDF file?  Is this one you created, or did you get it from another web site?  If it is one you created, there are a number of free web sites that will store/host files for you.  A facebook page is an option.  Is it all text, or does it have picture/illustration files?  If only text, you could just copy the text to your clipboard and paste it when you create a message.

Say Don, I have to apologize. I did not see that you replied on this, I just stumbled across it.

The project that I had in mind has since been shelved. I was considering starting a sort of blog about my Dads WW2 story while in Poland. I had written FSM on if they thought it would be Ok for me to do. I am concerned about some of the content because it tells of the brutaility of that war. FSM has not responded to my inquiry. And so, there it sits.

The question of a Pdf file is because I have problems with spelling and grammar. My thought was to create the chapters off-line where I can work on cleaning up the text, and then I can post it. I really struggle with this FSM interface, and the lack of spell check. It helps when using my iPad because it has a built in spell check but, the dang thing changes words on me constantly, and many times it misses words. For some reason it does not work well within this FSM interface. It is frustrating. FSMs pre-update spellcheck worked pretty well for me. I have tried copying and pasting from let's say a word document, but I have found that something gets lost in translation. All the careful formatting that I do gets jumbled up when it's applied to the post. It's a mess. So for longer posts, I resort to typing the message in this interface, copy the text into Word, do the spell check in Word, and then manually fix any errors in the interface. It's a pain.

Anyway, thanks for trying to help.
