Need help posting photo's
Posted by ChrisJH666 on Thursday, March 31, 2022 8:27 PM

Hi folks,

It has been a very long time since I was last on here, and I am having trouble remembering how to post photo's onto my post. I have uploaded my pics to Postimages, but I can't seem to get them to come up on the post. The best I have managed so far is getting the url to appear. I'm clearly doing something wrong. Can anyone assist please, preferably with a suitable noddy guide for the IT impaired? Thanks.

On your Postimage photo, use the "share" button to select then copy the "direct link" code. Paste that code into the pop up window in the "source" box on here that appears when you click on the little icon that looks like a photo of a mountain.

Hi,

Thanks for the assist. I was using the wrong transfer option. All good now. Much appreciated.

Or you can use the "Hotlink for forums" string and just paste it right into the body of a post.  That's what I do.  I don't use the Insert option from the toolbar at all.  Just another way to do it.

I usually pass on links to photos. I'll bet that I'm not the only one who does that.

Well, the Insert feature is essentially the same thing as inserting the link into the body of the post.  In any case, when I started years ago to take photos and post them in the various forums I belong to, I found it easiest-for me-to use a hosting site and to use forum links.  Fewest steps, in every case, and, since most forums either didn't allow attachments or had their own specs and requirements for image size, meaning creating specific copies for some forums, linking was the best solution.  But to each his own.
