Are you using the browse button to find your avatar? Do that, then once that is down use the update button, and then save the changes (near the bottom of the page). Wait the ten minutes and your avatar should be viewable.

The URL thing is the FSM servers address for the avatar you must browse for and upload to their site.

So long folks!

for me, when I enable my avatar, the url section already has this thing in it, and when I highlight and backspace, it takes me back to the main page. so, I tried uploading it from the hardrive, but it has that big ugly x thru it. do I just need to wait 10 minutes???

Go to your profile page, and enable avatars

Then browse for the avatar you would like to use on your hard drive (remember 99 x 99 pixels!) and upload. Then save your profile. Wait the ten minutes for the server to refresh and voila! You should have your avatar up and running.

edit

Berny, try saving that pic to your hard drive and upload from there. FSM is hosting the avatars on their own server.

So long folks!

They have the bugs worked out now.  I can't post an Avator now.  I check all the blocks, add the url and as soon as I hit refresh it goes back to blank.  This is what I am trying to add.

They have not activated this feature even though there is an option for it.

Adding an Avatar?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 22, 2005 10:15 AM
Hi,

How does one add an avatar? The area for doing this under "user profile" does not seem to work?

Thanks.
