As long as you have a place to host your pictures, then all it requires is that you take the url (location of the image) and put
tags (without the spaces) around it.
If you're posting a new topic or replying to a topic (not via the Quick Reply at the bottom of the page) you should see a whole row of icons. One of the icons you'll see looks like this:
. Clicking on that icon will write out the forum code needed for adding images to your message. You can also type in the image tags. It doesn't matter which way their entered.
Example:
For the March cover for FineScale Modeler, the image url ( the location or address of the image is http://www.finescale.com/fsm/images/fsm030301.JPG ).
To display this in the message, it would look like this:
NOTE: In the above examples - I've added a space between the "img" and the "]" (right bracket) to prevent this from being converted to an image.
Once I remove the spaces, this is what will happen:
