David Voss! I'm upset!
Posted by chopperfan on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 11:15 AM

It's a good thing I haven't totally lost the ability to read.

I never recieved the 'e-mail' you said would be forthcoming.  But, I finally found all the right buttons to click to get back on here.

Now, there was suppose to be a code to access the entire site in the 'e-mail' or so I was led to believe.  So, no 'e-mail', no access code.

I know it's a new thang, so I ain't really mad.  But, I would kinda like to see the rest of the site.

Oh!  One other thing and this isn't all that important but, my screen name is not showing up as an active user.  Will it not show to me or is there a glitch in the system?

The emails are running behind.  We weren't planning on going live until noon, but...  here we are.

An active user?  Are you referring to the globe with the mouse icon next to your name or the list on the homepage?

No.

At the bottom of the forums menu, there is a list of members that are logged in.  But, after I submitted this post and returned to the forums main page it was there.  So, no foul.

After viewing my profile, I think that answered my question.  It states that any changes may take up to 10 minutes to take effect.  That may have been the problem, as I had just signed on.  My signature was not showing, also.  But, it is now.

Also, personally speaking, I thought the home page was more eye appealing before.  Just my opinion.  It's still a great site.

Speaking of the globe icon next to my name. It's greyed out. What does that mean? Is this how we tell subscribers, from access code users, from looky loos?

I'm on the waiting for emailed access code, too!

I've also noticed that you are posting as "just another" forum member. No "FSM Central Command" for you?

So long folks!

This forum aggressively caches a lot of things for performance.  This applies to active users, signatures, profile information, avatars, messages, etc., which is why you may not see things update right away.

The globe icon is supposed to be an indicator if you're online or not.  If you're online (like you were at the time) it shouldn't be greyed out.

My globe is grayed out.  Though I can still make posts and am showing up on the list at the bottom as on line.  Could be a glitch in the system.

Yeah, it's probably buggy.  Maybe I'll just rip it out.  Wink [;)]

It's definitely buggy! I had to logout and log back in before the main page would show me as an active user, and the globe icon is still greyed out.

Having fun yet, David? Smile [:)]

I got signed in from work yesterday with minimal problems, but when I got home I couldn't log in at all, it would not except my password nor the password you sent me. Logged in this morning at work with no problems.  It was very upsetting.
