Can't Mac users post pics around here anymore?
Posted by TANGO 1 on Monday, November 21, 2005 5:31 PM
Man, if I can't post pics of my builds around here anymore, I'm gonna be really sad...................

Tried to post pics on the aircraft forum and they appear in preveiw mode but not in the actual post.
Also, there are no image tags/emicons on my fsm pages, this also another Mac problem?

Darren.

Darren I have exactly the same problem when posting from home on my Mac.

What browser are you using, and what OS are you running with?

Prior to the roll out of the new forum it should have been tested against all the key browsers on both Microsoft and Mac platforms.

Unfortunately this does appear to have happened!

I'm posting this from work on an XP desktop.

No Support for MacIntosh????

To summarize some of the discussion...

Firefox on the Mac:  This is the browser we recommend to Mac users.  The editor does work as intended on Firefox.

Safari on the Mac:  The problem with Safari is that it doesn't have the proper support for the rich editing surface the editor requires.  The next version of the forums, which is scheduled to be released in Jan, should include an alternative editor for Safari users.

IE on the Mac:  Microsoft dropped support of this browser back in 2002/2003 and said that they will not be developing future versions of IE on the Mac.  People should switch to Firefox or Safari if they can.

Thanks for the info. Dave, I am currently running on OSX 10.4.3 and I use Safari as my browser.

I shall check out Firefox and see if I can use that instead.

Darren.

I'm having the same problems too and i'm really mad, january is coming up soon so hopefully the problems will be fixed then. everything was fine in the old forums, i hope they get everything squared away by then. I'll just have to post pics then. I'd be nice if they got it running for safari too.
