There is no longer an icon for posting pics. I'll assume you are using a pic hosting site like Photobucket or Image Shack. You just have to cut and paste the image tags from there to here. By the way right click context menu paste doesn't work, you'll have to use <ctrl-v>. The smiley pic list is gone. You'll have to read which ones you want. There is supposed to be an upgrade in January. I hope some of the missing features will be restored.

So long folks!

I hear that about posting images!!!!! For new and improved, it's damned hard to use and not very user-friendly. Why can't we have a simple IMAGE tag button?

Why not, Finescale?????

Yeah, it's just so damned hard to type "[...i...m...g...]...[.../...i...m...g...]" to post a pic, isn't it? Wink [;)]

Seriously though, a single click is of course a bit easier than typing in 11 characters, to be sure...hopefully an "image" button of some type will be a feature included in the soon-to-come upgraded version.

I may be old but I am not computer illiterate. My problem is that the tags keep joining themselves, by all by themselves, to the link where the image is, which of course invalidates the link. I have sent e-mailes to Finescale describing this problem and requesting help, but no response to date.

I stand by my statement that the new forum is much less user-friendly than the old one, and other than using it as a marketing tool, I fail to see what we as subscribers have gained from it.

mfsob,

I'm having no problems with posting pics, and I would like to help you. I need some info from you first though:

What operating system are you using?

What browser are you using?

Who is hosting your pics for you?

So long folks!

I've sent an e-mail to Finescale outlining this problem, no response to date, but for your amusement:

- Windows XP Professional.

- Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.xpsp_sp2_grd.050301-1519

- I keep the photos on my Earthlink web pages and link from there. I know it's not as efficient, etc., but it's easier for me to keep track of.

mfsob,

If you're going to link from your own website, then you're stuck with having to type the image tags fore and aft of your link. You should consider getting a photo hosting site, they're free, will free up bandwidth use on your website and allow you to cut and paste the image tag already coded.

I use Photobucket.com as my pic host and never did use the old "image" button on the old forums.

Hopefully the upgrades for the new forum software will include such things as an Image button, I'm really surprised that it didn't already. It's a pretty common option.

So long folks!

I never implied that you were computer illiterate.

Big difference!

And actually, I am fairly computer illiterate, but nothing about the new site has given me any trouble.

Aside from that nutty freezing problem I have after logging off...

Anyway, good luck with your pic problem. I'm too illiterate (I'm being serious here) to help you any further!

I'm surprised Mr. Voss hasn't popped in to help you out yet...

I know ya weren't implying, J-Hulk ... I just get frustrated when things that did work just fine are "improved" and don't work just fine. And Dave has been advised of the problem.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Hopefully the new upgrade (whatever it will be) will address some of the user-friendly issues.

I'm monitoring this thread because I can't post pics either. I also can't make a hot link of a URL I refer too in a post. I tried typing in between the "[...u...r...l...]!!![.../...u...r...l...]"
