David, Please Help...Pic Preview works fine, post does not
Posted by JerrynFrog on Monday, April 24, 2006 7:55 AM
Dave, I did some testing in the 'Testing' Forum and I was wondering if you could take a look and offer any assistance.

My thread is called...

Testing on a PC at the Library.

I am amazed that the pic turned up in the preview, but not the post. ....I did have an assortment of other minor problems. It looks as though this place is not Mac friendly....I do hope I am wrong about this.

Thanks in advance......Jerry

Jerry,
I am a Mac guy & run Safari as my primary browser & have the same problem as you discribed. I don't think there is any real way to get around it other than I use Firefox web browser exclusively for the forums.

It's not so much Mac Unfriendly as Safari is FSM Unfriendly!

You Mac guys just have to "Think Different", that's all! Tongue [:P]

So long folks!

Thanks for the help folks, but I cannot run Safari or Firefox as I cannot run OSX. I have an older Mac which can go as far as OS 9.2.2.

What bothers me is that the preview works fine, the post doesn't. Must be some minor bug that could be easily fixed.

I can post pics using the PC's at the library. It is strange to me that the rest of the internet works fine with my old iBook.

Thank you for taking the time to post the replies. At some later date, I may get a newer computer and will be able to run Firefox.

I wish that David would take a look at my posts on the Testing forum, because the info there could be a clue to the solution to the problem....well, maybe.

Jerry, I had been running the Imac 6116cd for quite awhile  until I got this old G-3 which had been upgraded. I know how frustrating this is for you not beig able to utilize the forums functions properly. I got this newer system after the forums changed up their system & I had to suffer just as you are right now.
Have you sent aPM to David Voss yet? May be Jeff Herne cold be of some assistance in this matter as they both have knowledge of the new system.
I'm not very "computer literate" myself but, I'll check into other possible browsers for you in the meantime.Smile [:)] Hang in there my friend.

Lol... And I thought you were talkin' about the movie with Clint Eastwood stealing that Russian plane & having to land in Alaska to refuel from the subBig Smile [:D]

Macs are great even though they're limited in what one can do with them. I can't open a number of  files that are sent to me (ie: windows, wmv,PPFs,etc)

Ed,

Thanks for replying. I can post pics from the library, so I'm good to go. I do visit there often.

I had thought David checked this forum to help out and my specific info might have been of use to him.

I actually registered here, and photobucket so I could participate in some group builds. That concept sounds like much fun. Between home and the library, I will be able to do so. :)
