How to put a slideshow in my signature?
Posted by Yann Solo on Thursday, October 5, 2006 8:01 AM

I have too much badges and I want to show them as a slide show in my signature.  How do I do this?

I'm with photobucket.

You'll need some photo software that allows you to make an "animated .gif".  You each badge gets added to the animated.gif as a different layer, which then gets cycled through based on how you set it up.  I'm no expert on how to do that, I barely figured that out a while back and can't remember exactly how to do it now.  I'm sure someone else out there might be able to give you more detailed instructions.  I need to do the same thing you're doing, I can't fit all my badges.  Shock [:O]

Yann, get me a list of which ones you're in and I'll send you an animated *.gif file like the one in my sig.  Doesn't take me more than about 3 min to churn one out.

Well, thanks for the offer but if I do so, I will not be able to add more in the future by myself.  I saw something on photobucket.com where you can download such program.  I'll try to work it out.  thanks.

I've used Ulead Systems Photo Impact for almost 10 years, and I really like it.  They have an add-on called GIF Animator.

Yann, you can always put the GBs in a separate album in Photobucket and use their "fade" function under the "widgets" section (and I thought the military had too many names).  My suggestion is to resize all the photos to the same size... I know that 120 x 90 is the max size for FSM forums.  Then save the widget (I'm kinda doing this on the fly, so my apologies).  Here's a quicky example:

I think that if you have the URL in your sig block then the actual slideshow will show up as opposed to the URL itself.

EDIT: only the URL shows up in the sig block... back to the drawing board.

Ok the only option I have with filmloop is that "animated .gif button"  which is very small.  I'm about to give up.

Go to the site below and download the trial version of the GIF animation program.  It is easy to use.  You get 20 uses before it shut off and you have to buy it... less than $20. A "use" being each time you start and close the program.
