Problems viewing my own posts
Posted by zokissima on Thursday, November 9, 2006 9:28 AM

I've noticed this problem in the last two days. Whenever I make a reply, or even start a thread, I cannot see it. I cannot see my own replies, and I cannot see the thread. I can see all the previous stuff I've done but nothing new. It does not happen on any other forum that I go to, and I don't know if it has anything to do with my work firewall, I sincerely doubt that, since that would not filter this kind of traffic. It goes to show that if I can see the site openly, I should be able to see what's on it that I post. Further, it is not a caching issue either. I clean this up on a regular basis, and did this the first time I notice the problem, with no resolution.

It kind of saddens me that this update ever happened to FSM. I do not see a single plus that is has brought to this site, and many of the old prominent members never came back.

Not a good thing IMO, job poorly done FSM.

Zoran,

What browser and OS are you using? I haven't noticed any problems like you described.

What I have noticed is your rant about FSM being deleted. I only saw your initial post, which I saw as reasoned and polite, and can only presume that other, later, posts became such that deletion was necessary. It would sadden me to no end to find that FSM was pruning branches it didn't like without a good reason. I have to say that I mostly agreed with what you posted. Not entirely, mind you, but you've seen bigger changes than I have, simply due to your being on these forums longer. While we don't always see eye to eye, I value your posts and am interested in your views.

Bill

So long folks!

I'm using Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0 at home and am experiencing none of the problems you're describing.  Remember these updates on the forums were brought on by the release of IE7.  A lot of us upgraded to IE7 and so the forum software etc needed some changes so as to be compatible with the new browser.  There are a couple of threads that explain this somewhere around here.  Smile [:)]

I use Internet Explorer 6 at work and again, no problems.

I can only speak from my experiences here but I think these forums are great, I get the help I need and help as many as I can when I have the time.  Sometimes life gets in the way and people will disappear for a while, but they almost always come back when things settle down for them.
