Is it just me?  I have a lot problems with the forum's speed. It will sometimes take more than 4 min for a tread to open......    and I'm not even talking about posting.......

I know a little bit about IT (I'm a PC guru on another website); the speed at which the page downloads is dependent upon a lot of factors, starting with the web host (server speed, percent utilization of the bandwidth, etc.) and going all the way to your computer and how fast it is, what your bandwidth is, who else is on your WAN (Wide-Area Network) at any given time, etc. A page will also take a long time to download if it has a lot of graphics on it (graphics use up about 100 times more bandwidth/memory than pure text). So, like I said, it's dependent on a lot of factors; probably the biggest factor in download speed is your internet connection (your LAN) and it's interface with the WAN (your ISP). Are you wireless? That's a whole 'nother ball of wax. The most dependable form of Internet connection is a 10/100/1000 interface with a DSL or T-1 connection.
