tax tip

For US modelers who try to spread the goodwill by donating kits to the troops or toys for tots or other such charitble organizations: You may take a tax deduction for the fairmarket value of the kits and supplies you donate including the sales tax paid and cost of shipping and postage on your schedule A under contributions. you must be eligible to file the long form (ie mortagage interest deductions ) to deduct this. Keep your receipts if you can. Tony (Part time tax guy for the big tax preparation company for 10 years)
