Where are smileys?

I apologize if this is redundant, but I can't seem to find access to the smiley images that I assume to be part of this site.
I am using either Safari or IE on a Mac and neither seem to work.

Disregard.  I read a little further into the depth of this forum and have downloaded Firefox  and I see a new bar with lots of goodies!
