Logging in
Posted by tknight on Thursday, October 16, 2003 7:56 AM
Why does it take two sometine three times for me to log in?
It's not my password being incorrect. It will log me in then bounce right back to the home page to do it all over again.

Tim

I am having similar problems. It lets me log in to the home page but if I try to go anywhere else It wants me to log in again. After these attempts it puts me in the forum section and I can not access any other section of the site.

Looks like your right. I apologize for the problem. The problem occurred when I upgraded the forums/membership system. I'll work on getting this fixed today.

Whew...I was starting to think I got banned. I couldn't think of anything I did wrong.

The login problem for the OnlineExtra, Reader Gallery and Workbench reviews has been resolved. The Events, Clubs and Links sections are also back online.

If anyone continues to have problems, try the instructions posted (the link below). If that doesn't solve the problem, please contact us and let us know.
Will log me on, but I can't look at bench reviews

Thank you everyone for your patience while we worked on resolving this issue!

David, I followed your instruction as you advised but it has made no change to my problem. I'm still not allowed to read reviews. It forced me to log in but simply loops back to the log in page. The forum seems to work fine, however.

David,

I'm in the same boat as Dana. I tried it in IE 6 and Mozilla, and I still couldn't get to the workbench reviews.

I went into the preferences of both browsers and made sure that I was accepting cookies from this site.

I hope this can be fixed.

Banged Head [banghead] = me

I'll do my best to take another look later today. I'm not doubting you, but I just can't believe it's not working still. It's probably something totally obvious I'm missing, but don't see it at the moment.

If you could try one more tiny thing. When you get to the page, try forcing your cache to clear -- F5 or CTRL+R for the PC, F5 for AOL, Apple+R on the Mac. See if that does anything.

Okay, I cleared out my browser's cache completely and I'm still getting the same result. Sad [:(]

Oh, yeah. The workbench reviews section and the reviews on the homepage should be working now. If the problem comes up again, let us know.
