Ah - OK, so I completely misunderstood :)  Now that you explain it, it all falls together. :)  Less contrast = less eyestrain in some situations, but now that you've explained it, I can see where it would also make it harder to read. Thanks for taking the time to explain! ;)

I'm surprised, but more in an intellectually curious way, that some folks find green harsh                                                                                                                                             i think harsh  is maybe not as correct as saying it is harder to read    us old people do better with higher contrast .  the pale shades of green  and the white blend more than the red w ith the white    then again  the pale green   if the green was more intense say a forrest or dk grass green  it miight be ok. but it is too pale for us old guys cause some of us as myself  am going to the dmv to renew my license ( gonna bring my cane and seeing eye dog )  lol

Navigation is actually easier for me than the most recent previous incarnation, so I actually find myself spending more time reading the FSM forums than i have in recent years.

I'm surprised, but more in an intellectually curious way, that some folks find green harsh.  I thought that was the reason why things like automotive backlighting and NVDs were all greenish or bluish - less eyestrain.  Very interesting to know that some folks find the red easier.

For whatever its worth, the color doesn't matter much to me.  The important part is the content - there's lots of good stuff in these forums and I'm happier that it's easier/more efficient for me to find it.

I have to agree with some of you, be patient and let it work itself out. Change can be hard for some people on this forum, however change is good as it keeps things interesting. I like the new forum and I like the fact that its still free. There are a lot of other forums out there but geared only either for cars, or for just tanks, or whatever subject matter but finescale.com is for all subjects. I think we all need to be patient and give the webmaster time to get all the kinks ironed out. It can be childish to just say to hell with it i wont be back, as im sure after a while they will make there way back to finescale.com. I have seen it time and time again on other forums.

I have registration to 6-7 other forums but my all time favorite is and always will be finescale.com. Its a great mag and an awesome website\forum that I have gained a ton of information on my modeling building skills, and low and behold that is one of the reason we all joined this community. First and foremost is skills, then comes friendships and all the other good things that come with sharing a hobby.

I personaly thank finescale magazine, finescale.com, and Kalmbach publishing and all the fine folks that work for Kalmbach for keeping my hobby alive and teaching me new things everyday and every month!!! And also anyone in the forum that answers a question that I may have from time to time on my own builds. We are all one in the same when it comes to our mutual hobby and want to keep it that way without anyone leaving over a changed forum. Change can be hard for some but change can be good down the road and with anyting on the net, things change weekly and need to be updated from time to time.

Everyone keep up the good work!!!

I have been looking around the new and improved version.  I have read numerous posts from other members and all I want to offer is: Let criticism be constructive.  Whenever changes take place it is inevitable that there will be some problems and concerns that no doubt the moderators will address in time.

It takes time to iron out the bugs and quirks of any new product.  Take for example opening a new kit to only notice shortcomings in it.  What do we do we try to make it the best and improve the kit through improvising and consider it a challenge.

I have noticed that the site can on occassion be slow, in fact, I have timed a page change of up to 30 seconds, but I know that the problems will be corrected.  The new version only came on line this week.  The Moderators, IT people are not miracle workers, they are only like us, human.

I am getting use to the site and will bide my time and enjoy the changes as they come along and watch the site grow and prosper.  I may not be on the site alot or post much but I sure would hate to see talented people leave when things are not running smooth.  Our civil input will only help the moderator improve this site..

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.  Things will get better.

In the meantime, I will continue to browse the site, have no intentions of leaving and most of all build (or is it shake and bake) a model.

Well, maybe so. I admit I was getting a little cranky yesterday reading all the Forum Sux posts, and Aaron topped them all.

But come on. He created a special avatar to leave behind and went off on a pretty nasty rant. Why threaten advertisers? What did they do? Not buying from FSM advertisers really limits on where you are going to buy from, don't you think?

If that's how he reacts to a new look and feel on a forum, I wonder what he would be like during a REAL crisis!

I'll be the first to welcome him back and apologize, but he sounded like he was slamming the door pretty hard behind him.

So long folks!

Bill, that's a little uncalled for, I think. Something has obviously ticked him off, maybe he'll reconsider as he's a friend.

Frankly, if Aaron is so short fused as to create an avatar protesting the changes, cancel subscriptions and threaten advertisers, then Good Riddance! He needs to grow up and be a man.

So long folks!

I'm starting to get used it and am getting the hang of navigating around. Every forum is a little different and they all have their ups and downs.  None of them are perfect.  Considering that the forums are free I'm surprised by how incensed some are getting, my goodness.  It's just a model forum, not Health Care Reform.   Tongue Tied

Not cool to lose someone like Aaron. As silly as this sounds, I look up to him and others who have laughed with me, shared with me and helped me along my way. I consider these people my friends and many others do also.

Completely and utterly disheartened,

Scary to think what may happen if you ever got some "real" bad news.

It's a sad day, when changes for the better (insert sarcasm smiley here) evokes this type of response.

I am furious!  This was brought up in the forum before about not fixing what was broken!  Iis a sad thing when the FSM staff refused to listen to their customers!  I am a subscriber to 12 subscriptions from Kalmach Publishing including gifts that I am writing to cancel or not renew ever. I will do my best to contact advertisers and say that I do not wish to do business with anyone advertising with such a magazine that would do this to it's community.

If I wanted a Face Book Forum I woulda been there!

I have said my part. Don't care about responses cuz I will not be wasting time to read them here.

Meet ya at the Airfix or some other real forum with real staff that listen!

I'm going to build a model and ignore this Magazine.
