Slow speed
Posted by bondoman on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 10:59 AM

Hey mods I've got high speed cable, and I also realize that there will be teething problems, BUT...

The forum I care about most, the Navy Air Wing GB, will not load. That's right, will not load. I assume that's because it has 10,400 posts with (wow) actual pictures of models by members.

Bring back the pirate smiley!

Not just Navy, but everything on the Group Build pages is so slow that even a retired guy can't wait that long.  Much worse than yesterday.  Must be something wrong here.

The forum's speed has improved, but my posts M3 lee Project 1/6th Scale still refuses to load. The browser stops the download and the whole browser clamps up and quits. This happens in both internet explorer and in firefox.

~Guys, I can totaly relate, Although many big problems with the new Forum have been fixed , my current WIP build thread ~! Clash in Tunisia !~ in the Diorama Forum, STILL WILL NOT OPEN !! Sometime if you wait 4 minutes it will, but this is in no way workable.

The good news is Megan McCain had PM'd me that they are aware of the problem and working on it !

So, there is hope.  Im not going anywere yet.

Even though it has speeded up greatly from when they first did the change, its still taking 2-3 times longer to load a thread then it did before

Wow, almost 2 minutes waiting to go to this screen so I can post this. I have been unable to access the ME410 post, its stuck on neutral. I thought it was my computer but its working great in any other web site but this one.Sad Just letting you folks know.

Odd, it was slow the first day back on the forum, but today is as snappy as ever. Though most of the older and longer threads take a long time.

So long folks!

I'm on DSL running at about two meg faster than the advertised rate. The ME 410 build will not load no matter how I wait. It just times out and the white screen emerges to slap me in the face. I'm really starting to miss the old format almost daily now

Older threads are taking longer to load as the transition isn't complete yet. Patience is a virtue!

So long folks!
