Can we get some alternate forum styles?
Posted by Aaronw on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 8:21 PM

Rather than post in one of the mostly rant new forum posts, I guess I'll start a new one.

I don't know if it is the color or the font size but the new forum gives me a headache after just a a few minutes of reading it. Many of the forums I frequent offer alternate styles, maybe something with larger fonts or more subdued colors?  I don't see any place to make these changes so I'm guessing nothing is currently set up for options.

Thanks, I had not seen that setting. Unfortunately it doesn't actually seem to change the size of the font.

It only changes the font of your reply

This one is 18pt

This one should be 36

problem is (back to 14pt now) that if you click away from your reply, the font size reverts tothe original... you may have to go back, highlight your text, then change the font.

I still cant figure out how to deal with the GREEN topic headers, I really have a tough time reading green on grey.

PROTIP!

If your font is way to small to read, if its just your screen, or your eyes, or what have you...

hold down the control key and roll the wheel on your mouse, it will make all the font bigger or smaller depending on which way you roll it.

I saw that suggestion in another post, it does help some but is rather awkward. This is the only web site I'm having issues reading. I'm guessing a combination of the colors and font size, but I can't take more than about 10 minutes at a time.

I'm 42 and have no eye problems, 20/20 vision. With the many builders older than me on the site I'm quite sure Im not the only one having issues with the new set up.

Most websites I use offer multiple options for background color which helps when the default is hard on the eyes, I'm not sure why this does not seem to be a concern of the admin of this site.
