Space on the right side of screen!!!
Posted by B-17 Guy on Monday, December 14, 2009 3:19 PM

I've noticed some improvements lately and am happy to see them, but I still want to see more of the screen! Please move the ads and user cp elsewhere please?! Put them on the bottom or something would ya?! Pretty please?

If you hold down the Ctrl key and hit the + key, you can make the screen as wide as you want and push those ads right off the screen. Holding the Ctrl and hitting the - key does the opposite.

Thanks for that tip, but why should I have to do that? I really think it's silly that I should have to change that just to view one forum in that way, would you not agree?

I do agree, however, this is the hand that was dealt to us. There are a few things about this change that upset a lot of people(including me). The mods are listening to us. Little by little, they are fixing the problems.  I still haven't figured out a lot of this. Just hang in there. It'll get better. It better, because the book "Computers for Dummies" is too advanced for me.

Adjusting the screen "size" by Ctrl+ (or Ctrl and roll the wheel on your mouse) isn't universal for all web sites. I find I have had to adjust to view different forums and websites, and such is life.

So long folks!

I have to say the advertising doesn't bother me. FSM has to offset the cost of site and I suspect the editors want to keep the limited magazine revenue for the magazine. Most will not pay for access that they have come to expect for free so an advertiser-supported site is the only option.

I'm not mad that they have the ads, I'm mad about where they are. Why on the side?! Why not on the bottom? Every other forum I'm on has advertising to but evryone of them was smart enough to put them at the top and bottom of the page and the user CP as a tab to go into instead of being where it is here.

I just tried this and it works fine for this site, but now all other sites I visit are gigantic! Surprise

Is there a way I can do this here without affecting other websites?

Right jeremy.....OR........maybe they can.........just move the ads and user CP elsewhere!!!!!!!! I think that would make the most sense.
