Wierd Errors when posting using Firefox
Posted by Bgrigg on Thursday, February 4, 2010 10:37 AM

This happens enough to irritate, but not often enough to be called reproducible!

When using trying to insert a link, the screen reduces to the size of the pop-up box and stays that way. This only happens when using Firefox and not IE8 or Chrome.

Also, the new page navigation numbers at the top of the thread sometimes don't work properly. Instead of taking you to previous pages, it just refreshes the screen you are already viewing.

And when I posted that last Quick Reply and attached the emoticon, the page reduced in size to match the emoticon box. Doesn't seem to do it with the Quick Reply box.

And the emoticon ended up at the beginning of the line, and not at the end of the last sentence. I'm leaving it as it is, in case there is a clue to be found in the code.

Bill,

Of course, just like when you have a problem with a car and you can't get it to happen when test-driving it with the mechanic, I can't get the issue to occur. Has anyone else had the same issue?Computer

Cheers, Aaron

CoolAnd it jumps to the beginning! Now Cool with cursor at end of line:

And it jumps to the beginning! Thumb up with cursor at end of line: Yes

And it sticks to the end? Let's try computer with cursor at the end: Computer

And that works! Now to try one from the middle of the pack: Wink

Which is the one that jumped in a couple of posts today. So it's not emoticon specific. I hate getting weird stuff just before the weekend, why can't this stuff happen on Mondays? Confused

Bill,

Thanks for the links. I can't get this to happen on my computer, but I'm passing everything on to our online crew. Cool

Cheers, and have a good weekend!

Hmmm, no problem. No reduction in window size and the smilie didn't jump to the beginning of the line.

That works fine! Maybe 3.6 is the problem but the FSM techie couldn't duplicate. Will have to dig about and see if the recent upgrade to Java is the culprit, or perhaps a new plug-in?

While I'm here I'll test the insert link issue, as well.

Which also works. Darn, this means it is certainly my problem! Super Angry Big Smile Wink
