Unless the server farm is running a fleet of generators, no. They should have a UPS on each server, but those are so you can do an orderly shutdown until the power is restored.

Thanks Aaron for letting us know that is was storm related and not an attempt to get me back to the honey-do list!

So long folks!

Gents,

There were several severe storms in the areas this weekend, but normal service seems to have returned. Everything should be back to normal now.

Cheers, Aaron

Good to know it wasn't just me!

Maybe it was  "Service unavailable due to unidentified gremlins"

Ditto  No power back up if there was an outage?

I got the same page most of yesterday. My guess is a power outage caused the server to go down.

Is it just me over here, or has there been some sort of server issue or something going on for several hour from yesterday evening to recently?

All I was getting was a blank page with the text "Service Unavailable".
