I do the same thing. Notepad is my friend. Its a habit I formed from work and having to enter case details into tracking software. Nothing worse than entering several paragraphs of data only to hit submit and it tells you that your login has timed out!

Yea, when I am doing a large post with alot of pics and research and such I write it in notepad and copy it over.

Haven't had that happen to me...but if it helps, I've made a habit of copying long bodies of text before hitting post. Learned the hard way after the blog dashboard ate a few of my posts (usually due to the internet going spotty). That way if it's lost, just CTRL+V and it's all back and ready to go.

This has been an ongoing issue, at least for me, with the "new and improved" forum - sometimes when I am replying to a post, I want to go look something up to make sure I am right, so I leave the Reply box open, look up the material, then type my response ...

And then get an error message that says I can't respond because I am not a registered user and will have to sign in before I can respond - which also wipes out the response I have already typed. Maybe it is just me, but this is really, really, really annoying (among many other of the new "features") and a further hindrance to using these forums.
