We don't want to go back to that! Several folks just want specific topics. And it eliminated duplicates! Only takes a few minutes to subscribe to all and then you're good to go.

I WAS subscribed to RECENT POSTS via RSS, but there is no way to do that now.  It was called AGGREGATE i think.  Could you bring back that ability, now one must subscribe to each category....AC, Armor, tools, etc.  Before it was easy to get an overview of activity....not now.

Had to resubscribe to each forum, as the previous feeds stopped working, but appears to be working correctly now as far as staying true to the category.

Earlier this week we announced that the Forum and gallery would be down for maintenance from noon, Monday, June 25 until noon, Tuesday, June 26. The RSS feed should be repaired during that time, including some other upgrades to the system.

Thanks,

TK

Hi guys,

I just talked to our online team. The company that provides our forum software, Community Server, is about to release the new version and we're on the short list to receive it. The update should fix the RSS problem. I don't have an ETA, but I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

TK

TK What's the latest? New software installed and problem fixed? I don't see that in my Google reader yet.

Hi,

New to the forums (Hello!) and having the same issue. I have subscribed to the following forums:

Aircraft, Airliners and Civil Aircraft, Armor, Autos, Decaling, General Modeling, Painting & Airbrushing, Reference, Scratch building and Tools. As an example of what's happening I just saw that I had 10 new messages in "Autos" - when I click on that forum's feed I get aircraft items like "Tamiya T-55 Enigma WIP" and "Late War Zimmerit Question:" as well as assorted other items from other categories.

In addition to the items showing in in multiple [unrelated] feeds I'm finding that old items are reappearing as new as well. It's a pretty crazy RSS system FSM is using. ;)

I use both Google reader and FeedDemon - this is not isolated to Google reader.

Thanks for listening, I hope you guys can sort this out.

Hi Hokey,

Our online department has tested RSS feeds in Google, Yahoo, and Outlook and have not been able to duplicate your experience with the Ships forum. They think that the bug exists in the software platform that we use to power the FSM Forum (which is a 3rd party package). Online is checking to see if other forums using the same software package have had a similar issue and are reporting your complaint to the provider.

We do not do custom upgrades to software for various reasons, paramount being legal ramifications and voided licenses. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeframe for when the provider would be able to locate and fix the bug.

At this point, we're in a holding pattern.

Any news on fix? Sure would be great to get forum updates the right way!

Thanks Tim. Can you share with me how they tested feeds in Google? I'm using Google too and would think results would be same.

Nope! Just checking Google Reader and 36 posts in SHIPS and the first I read is actually in TECHNIQUES.

Looks like something may have gotten fixed? I have only 3 posts today from Ships and all 3 are about ships.  ust so you know, the other forums are messed up too.  I subscribe to General Modeling, Painting, Techniques and Tools.  All of them have multiple forum posts like Ships, Planes, Helicopters, etc.

Hi Hokey,

I've contacted our online department and they're looking into it now. I'll post here as soon as we can come up with a solution.

Thanks,

TK

Makes following impossible!  PLEASE help clear this up.

Cross posting or is RSS not right?

I'm getting many many repeat posts showing up in my News Reader from 4 different forums.  I subscribe to General Modeling, Painting and Airbrushing, Ships and Techniques. I continue to see posts like "Thumbs up", "Atlanta amps", "Computerize" in multiple forums.
