Missing Posts? Why?
Posted by Sprue-ce Goose on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 1:07 PM

My total posts is now listed as 2,000 fewer than before the forum was shut down for maintenance.

Why?

Have some of my older posts been deleted?

I ask because I do occasionally refer to my post archive for information.

There were two Forum categories, which had been closed to forum members and were deleted. The posts in those categories were removed from the server and is the reason for the adjusted post counts.

I have not yet checked everyone, but I know of one who doesn't appear to have had a drop in number , yet posted on the now closed thread.

I am concerned that my modeling related posts have been deleted as they contain information which yet be useful.

Neither Forum category was accessible to Forum members, although the posts contained in them were still indexed by the site. The posts that you had access to before the changeover should still be available to you now.

Thanks, I am checking.

I have been slowly checking older posts working from today and using the "Show More" feature.

Unless / until  I discover a better forum search feature, I fear it is going to take a long time to sift back to my first posts in 2005

I'm down about a 100+ posts, not sure what threads have gone.

Speaking of posts counts, whats the deal with the stars/medals.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Two forum catergories?

Obviously one is Odds and Ends. What was/is the other?

I was wondering the same thing.

I recall the pre-post warning:

“Odds and Ends forums. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”

For some reason, I can't recall any other

It was an administrative dust bin where a bunch of deleted posts had been gathered for a decade. Yes, O&E was the other, and all of those posts are gone.
