I dunno how others do it, but I just copy and paste multple quotes from different memebrs into notepad, then after I'm done with the replies to each quote, I copy and paste the entire thing into the reply window...

One more ?

How does one go about "quoting" from multiple posts.

I figured out the "quoting" from one post easy enough....I've seen a few posts that have multiple "quotes" from different posts within a thread....how does that happen?

All you have to do for a "quick reply" is put your cursor into the reply window.. You don't have to do anything else.. Then click "Reply" to post it..

Is it possible to label the entry box at the bottom of a thread with the legend "Quick reply" so that people know that they have the option?

#3 & #4: If you look at the reply button you should see an option for Use Rich Formatting. That will give you the option to use all the bells and whistles as well as quote other users, etc.

Hi Aaron,

You do see the "use rich formatting" option on the last post of a thread, but if you are replying to an earlier post in the thread, you have to hit the "reply" button on that post before the "use rich formatting" option is displayed. Perhaps this is what SMJ is referring to as an extra step.

Phil,

You are correct. But this is the way this version of the software functions. It does take an extra click to get there, but you don't have to enter any text to access that function.

Cheers, Aaron

SMJ,

Some answers:

#1: We are looking into this issue to see if it can be tweaked.

#2:I look into this one.

#3 & #4: If you look at the reply button you should see an option for Use Rich Formatting. That will give you the option to use all the bells and whistles as well as quote other users, etc.

If you have any other question you might take a look at the FAQ and help page.

Cheers, Aaron

Some commentary and input on new forum format...
Posted by SMJmodeler on Friday, June 29, 2012 8:28 AM

Guys:   Here's some input on the new format I thought I'd bring to your attention:

I like the association of the avatar and the posts.   Badges are cool, goes well with military feel!

Some struggles too:

#1: I don't know what posts I've read and haven't read, both in the forum main pages and "Your Discussions".  The last format cleray showed the read posts in a shaded font...I liked that.

#2:  When I click the latest post it brings me to the last page, not the latest post...lots of additional  frustrating scrolling.

#3:  When I reply to a post I have to start some text, then hit reply...then I have to go to the post again and hit edit...too many steps.

#4:  There's no reply/qoute like previous format, see #3

Thanks for looking.  Any help/ direction would be appreciated.
