Ok, I'm using IE and if you are replying in the "quick reply" box at the bottom of a thread, when typing a reply and you reposition using the mouse or the arrow keys, the cursor ("|") on the screen does not move to reflect the correct position. However, once you start typing again, the current cursor position is updated with each keystroke. Certain other keys, such as the "delete" key can also cause the cursor to disappear.

Strange things also happen to the cursor display if you move the mouse pointer into or out of the text box. If you are typing with the pointer inside the text box, when you move the pointer out of the box, the cursor disappears. If you are typing with the pointer outside the text box and move the pointer into the box, the cursor disappears..

Phil, I think that's an IE9 issue; at least, I first noticed it in various forums, including FSM, when I upgraded to IE9.  I've been experimenting with Firefox and Chrome, and I don't see that behvior with those browsers.

My company has also noticed issues for users running our software in IE9.  It's quirkier than previous releases or than other browsers.

Usually AOL's own browser which uses IE. I think it also happens with Firefox. I'll check later.

Edited post and  and can see photos now. Put thsi one down to me being dumb.

Checked Firefox. No cursor problem. Not the first time AOL's browser has demonstrated idiosyncrasies such as this. Sorry to have taken up your time.

Hi Antoni,

At the bottom of your post, there is a little pencil icon. Click that and you should be able to edit your post.

As for the cursor issue, this is the first I've heard of it and don't have an immediate answer for you. Can you tell me what browser you are using?

Tim

When a link to a photo is inserted into a new post it does not appear. Instead the link is displyed in green minus the [ img ] [ / img ]. I used to be able to solve this problem with edit post. I would delete the link and then paste it back. When the post was saved the photo would then be displayed. Now I cannot find any way to edit the post. Where haas the edit post button/option gone?

Also the cursor, thin black line, appears behind the letter or disappears. This is very confusing as I keep thinking I am about to type something in the wrong place or I have no idea where the cursor is and do not know what I am about to type will appear in the text.
