Was logged into somebody else's account!
Posted by plasticjunkie on Monday, July 7, 2014 1:00 PM

I just cleared all my cookies and junk from my PC's memory and when I clicked on my saved FSM site and  it came up as  "Welcome back Korey Fenman". I logged out and signed in under my password. What happened?

You were abducted last night and they changed your name?

That's a head-scratcher, Korey .....er, I mean, PJ.

No Greg, the martians didn't abduct me or attempt to extract my model building skills thru their mind reading machine Alien LOL Big Smile . I would like to hear something from FSM as to why that happened. :dunno:

Hi Plasticjunkie,

This is an issue that we're aware of and tracking. It happens very intermittently (we haven't had an issue in more than a year), so we don't have a lot of data on it. Under the log in box, there is a link that says "Not XXXXXX?, Click here." That's to send all of the information pertaining to log-in error to our Online Services so they can look to see what's happened and attempt to fix it.

That's about all I've got on this end.

Tim

Yes Tim, I clicked on the "Not Me" link. Just found it odd, thanks.

I was going to apologise for horsing around when a legitimate question was being asked, but since Stik did it too, I won't. The thought was there, though. Angel

Your tinfoil hat kit has been dispatched...

Seriously though, I have seen this before too. I can't recall the circumstances though. It may have been the first time I logged in on a new tablet or may have been logging in after one of the forum/site maintenance outages.

I have had that happen on another site off of a shared computer while I was overseas on deployment. I still get notices of the other guys updates to his account... Not that I care about it...

Happened to me as well a couple months back. Don't remember the exact name but I recall that it was a sort of clever acronym that in some way represented FSM. Just figured it was a promo thing to get people to sign up ... Maybe?

Hmmm, I dunno.   Hmm

Bill.

On the bench:  Lindberg 1/32 scale 1934 Ford Coupe and a few rescue projects.

In queue:  Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor or a scratch build project.

"Daisy, Daisy ..."

OK, I understand the levity, however, we do take this seriously. DURR makes a good point. No system is perfect nor impervious. We do our best to make sure things don't go haywire, but sometimes they do.

It happens, that's why we have techs., like Tim. I think most of us are good natured about it because we do no harm. So, no foul. This site works really well, by the way. Unless, of course, you "peep" like "G" does. :) Bob

Hello to every one,

It seems you logged into my account. On the other I never logged out. It is strange.

Strange indeed my friend. I punched out as soon as your name popped up in consideration to your privacy,

Y'know, weird stuff like this can happen anytime, anywhere.  This is why I have not signed up for Facebook or Twitter or other large public social sites.  Recently there are reports of Facebook harvesting data on what users are looking at or posting, for whatever nefarious reasons.  My policy is to keep a low profile on the internet.  Be safe out there, friends!

This happens to me about once a month.  I always hit the "Not xxxxxxx" button; as I've been told it reports the problem.

On the bench:  Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build.  Yes, still.
