Funny that they monitor "that" but not Forum Outages.

Wow, isn't that the truth. It’s crickets with regard to Forum outages. They can’t even post something saying hey, we know there is a problem, we are working on it. Speaking for myself, I am really tired of it, and speaking for myself, it’s pushing me away from posting. Btw... not only is email broken, but I have issues with logging on too. Then today there were a few times I tried viewing the site and the forum was completely inaccessible.

Maybe it’s time for me to find a new passtime. Heck, the way it is going, I won’t be able to log on and that will settle the issue.

This might be why the forum seems so slow.  It's annoying.  I suppose it's what might be referred to as a "first-world problem", but annoying still.

Usually I get several notifications per day but recently it's just crickets.  I bet they're waiting for some 3rd party to fix notification problems.

Anyway I hope it's fixed soon to lower my productivity at work.  I'm getting so much done now! Stick out tongue

 LOL's!

There's a lot I could say that's good about this forum. I'm not sure why XuX got his picture taken down, but it's been a thing for a while where deer trophies etc. don't survive for long.

I've posted threads in Ready Room called "What's Cookin'". Others do stuff about pets. Or cars.

Good ob overall, FSM.

Funny that they monitor "that" but not Forum Outages.   I had to use Facebook to alert'em to one Outage and email for another.

Hey, maybe the "Moderator" really likes Cats.  I enjoyed the discussion. That's Life.

That's too bad about the ducks. Kalmbach owns the show and they make up the rules. Maybe just removing the photos would have been a better idea.

And yes, this form is really slow. But, the Arc Air forum seems also very slow. Maybe people are busy with the holiday season. I know that we have a lot going on.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

No feathers ruffled here. The dead cat didn't bother me either and I agree with Stik on the editing.

However much I don't like cats, but to put myself in the shoes of those who do; a post of a dog shot would be upsetting to me.

I'm going to stick my neck out a tad here. We all seem to be in an environment where half us think we are about to lose all of our rights and the other half has gone nuts. Which is which depends on the viewer, in other words we're all a little bat poop nuts.

I really like this forum and seek a lot of refuge here. It allows me to have open conversations about stuff with folks I probably wouldn't much interact with just because of where I live, where I go and what I do.

I thank the mods for that.

I'm very sorry Timmy lost his ducks. That is pretty awful. A friend of mine has a duck pen and sells me eggs. His pen has a burried wire floor, otherwise the preds will burrow under the cage and pop up in there.

Have a good Thanksgiving, everyone!

Sorry, but I have to agree with GM and Stik.  This is Kalmbach's forum, and they can set their own policies.  If you were to try to sue on First Amendment grounds, I think your case might be dismissed at the outset.

 ...Sorry to ruffle everyones feathers...

I don't think anyone's feathers were ruffled.  You made a statement, and people disagreed.  No ruffled feathers at all.

I have no intention of boycotting the forums. It would appear that my alligator mouth overroad my hummingbird ass once again.

I think I may have struck out simply from being overstressed about an outside situation. Yes there are things I have no control over and yes this is a privately owned and operated website, thier house thier rules.

      Sorry to ruffle everyones feathers.

One problem is the person who deletes posts never answers, this post for example, lets see if they do.I seemed to have a post deleted a few days ago, maybe it was, maybe it was a glitch, but no one answered me.Sure, their busy, its not a fulltime job,but it feels like your talking to a wall when you are ignored. Some explanation is in order,so all have a better understanding of what they are looking at.

1st Amendment applies to public speech. You can say what you want (almost) and not face criminal charges within the USA. Being a privately run site, it’s their house/their rules. That’s just the way this place, or any other website is. Some are more loose with what goes than others.

That being said, this place has become exceptionally slow over the past few weeks. Not much model building and posting going on. And even general conversations on whatever topic have been pretty slow. Whacking another thread won’t help that matter.

The whole issue could better have been resolved by merely deleting the photos. The tale would not be lessened at all by removal of the photos and allowing the conversation to continue.

No, the 1st Ammendment doesn't do all of those things. Also, as a forum with rules, those rules pretty much allow the folks that operate it to do as they wish, their only penalty being a loss of membership.

Last time I checked the mods at FSM were not acting as the Congress. God help us if they were,. although Elizabeth Nash would be a great Rep. from the 4th District.

There's been a fair amount of activity here over time about showing dead animals. Fermis can tell you about that.

No doubt the OP meant no harm. He also suffered no punishment. His post was deemed no longer acceptable I guess.

So what?

He can boycott this forum, you can boycott this forum.

But it's their rules.

I really try hard not to make waves on this international website however I can't let this one go for some reason.

There was a topic of dicussion posted in the Ready Room which is supposed to be about topics not model related. The title was " Don't mess with my wife". The post showed a few pictures of a wild animal which was shot after attacking the families duck coup. Granted SOME may have thought it graphic and may have been " offended" by said photos, the comments posted were nothing short of observations and well wishes to the OP and his family.

Kalmbach publishing is as far as I know based in Wisconsin which if my geography is correct is in the United States of America..... My point is the removal of this thread appears to be a form of censorship. Freedom of speach is protected under the 1st Ammendment of our Constitution. Of the replys I read before the post seemed to "disappear" only one poerson mentioned they were offended however still wished the OP good will.

Please consider the fact that while we are an international group, the company who publishes and hosts this site belong to the United States. Free speech is a protected right for which myself and many othe members of the firums sworn to protect.

I do not mean to slap Kalmbach publishing nor do I intend to " boycott", or make trouble on the forums for which I participate however I just can not remain silent on this obvious squelching of free speech.

Please remember the " Ready Room" where non modeling topices can be discussed IS where said now deleated post was posted.

Thank you for your time to read my feedback and I will continue to be a member of this fun and informative site, as a veyeran of the US military, sworn to protect our Constitutional rights I was compelled to voice my concern.
