What is wrong with this site??
Posted by plasticjunkie on Saturday, May 2, 2020 8:08 AM

Since yesterday I have been getting a 504 Error code when trying to log on my pc and on the I Pad it's saying my password is wrong. However, I'm on here now on my I Phone so Is anyone having issues?

Little slow to refresh. I have to imagine that web bandwidth is getting strained in some areas.

Extremely slow here too since yesterday.  No error messages for me, just slow.

I’ve had problems connecting to this site since yesterday.  I tried a number of other sites that I frequent, and the connection was as fast as I’m used to.

It's not just this site.  I can no longer log onto the Scale Auto Magazine web site. I gat a 504 Gateway Time Out error.

Can somebody try to log onto the Scale Auto Magazine web site and see what happens?

Ok so it's confirmed that I'm not the only one with the issue. I have gone on several browsers and get the same error code. My I pad ssys My password is wrong yet my I Phone can connect but VERY slowly.

I strongly suggest to let FSM know. I PMd Elisabeth to let her know

I PMd Elisabeth also. I think that all of these IT issues are out of her hands.  If she could help then the email notification problem would have been resolved.  This is a Kalmbach problem since these IT problems affect multiple sites. Only they can resolve the problem and I do not think that they are interested in solving the problem.

I understand JK but it doesn't hurt to let her know so she can forward the info. Not long ago we had some type of malware pop up on this site and I pm'd her about it and she took care of the issue.

She is I believe the "Digital Editor" so she certainly needs to know about these issues before the kids pack up their marbles and go home.

That would be really sad if members abandoned this web site because Kalmbach lacks the interest to fix things. I have learned so many modeling tips and tricks from the members on this web site. I have also had my fare share of giggles and laughs.

Yesterday (Friday) was able to get on intermittently.

Today (Saturday) I was unable to connect all day, first this is my first successful attempt at 5:05 EST.

I tried alternate browsers but not other devices.

Have you tried to log on to the Scale Auto Magazine web site? I'm just asking because I cannot log onto that web site.

Greg

Yesterday (Friday) was able to get on intermittently.

Today (Saturday) I was unable to connect all day, first this is my first successful attempt at 5:05 EST.

I tried alternate browsers but not other devices.

Same problem as Greg after trying to log in yesterday afternoon. Tried resetting password and the whole nine yards, no effect then or this morning, on phone or PC.

Naturally...since I troubled Elizabeth with an e-mail, this morning...the thing has now 'automatically' fixed itself. Angry

[No snide 'attitude' intended if it was some sort of IT intervention. I just didn't reasonably expect any hands-on response over a weekend.]

Same issues with me since Friday would not accept my log in, emailed finescale services and Elizabeth. I'm able to log on now. Thanks for the help.

Sorry I couldn't help you with that, Johnny. I don't have an account there.

Glad everyone is back on now. Yes At the moment, site performance seems downright spry to me.

I’ll add a new “WTF?” gig on the site while we are on the subject. I type my reply, switch ver to a new tab for image searches to add to my reply and after I find what want then return back to my reply- boom, I have been logged off the site and my reply erased... this is happening frequently lately... it’s more than a bit aggravating on a wordy reply...

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Not for that particular operation, but yes at times. I use Word more now, and transfer the text at the end, then insert image links. At least I only lose the latter phase when the site winks.

Or I just post as I go and edit as a sort of autosave every couple of minutes.

Ya know this retirement stuff is hard. Usually I’m back to work by now. I haven’t had this much free time on my hands since school days summer vacation. Do I work on the house, play with the dogs, work on a model, or talk smack online...?

I still haven’t seen any sign of Javelina... saw a roadrunner out hunting this morning though...

Havet had that issue yet.  But i still cant for some reason add a pic to my signature line - get a "validation error".    When i insert the pic, it shows in the window until i hit "update".  I have my picture i use on this site on google pics, in a shared folder that i create for each subject.  It works when i post them to threads but for some reason i cant them into a signature.....

Keep on modeling!

All the best,

William
