Thanks, Mr. Kidwell.  I did use the provided customerservice@FineScaleModeler.info when sending my email, so now I have forwarded the message over to you.  I appreciate the assistance!

P.S. I refer to you in my email as Mr. Kalmbach by accident.  I caught my mistake too late.

Hello Tim!

Thanks for taking time to reply to my message. Long time ago, when the forum was changed, long time ago, I just couldn't figure it out, why the new format felt this much worse than the previos one... Now we kinda got used to it, didn't we? Have a nice day

Paweł

Sad but true - the last forum format change was already years ago, and since then the forums are pretty crappy in terms of "bugginess" - and there's no one to fix it. Like keavdog wrote - a workaround the not working search funtion was to just use google - it usually does the job all right.

Hey Pawel,

There are people to fix the bug, but, as has always been the case, the team has more than one brand to work for. We do what we can when we can. The primary focus of FineScale Modeler is it's magazine; the Forum was and is a free offering started because Kalmbach started forums for all of its hobby brands. They all run off the same platform. And when it is determined that all the brands will have a forum platform upgrade, that's when we'll get ours, too.  Believe me, we're frustrated because we have plans for more brand activity on the Forum. But we have to get some of these other issues out of the way first.

Also, the "email support" function on the customer service page does not work.  Also it's been more than a week since I emailed customer support manually and I've received no response.

Hi Juicebox,

Under the Customer Service selection there is an Email Management section under which are the Subscribe, Change Email, and Unsubscribe choices. Which one were you having trouble with? Or are you referring to something else?

Waiting a week is far too long and shouldn't have happened. Please email me (tkidwell@kalmbach.com) your query and I'll see that it is passed along and taken care of ASAP. As a reminder, the email for Customer Service is customerservice@FineScaleModeler.info. If that hasn't worked for you, you can call 877-246-4847 (U.S. and Canada); 903-636-1125 outside the U.S. and Canada.

Lastly, yes, the forum search has never worked the way that we intended it to, and that goes back to before I joined the title in 2011. Numerous attempts have been made over the years to fix it, but various teams could never get it to work the way that we wanted it to. As was mentioned, Google is the best way to search the forum, and has been a work around that staff uses, too. Yes, you can ask, well, why not just fix it? Teams have tried, and, right now, short of a complete replatforming of the Forum, going in and overhauling the search function ranks low to finishing other fixes, which is underway.

For searching the forum it's best to go to google

finescale <user> subject

e.g.

finescale keavdog osprey

Thanks,

John
