It's not broken.  If you start a thread, you won't see it -- the rule is that you can't rate your own thread.

It's for rating threads, a scale of 1-5.  When you view the list of topics in a forum, you'll see the topic rating (if there is one).

Kidding actually, I think this new software allows the user to "rate" the topic. I hope it's broken and remains that way!

What's the deal with the "Rate" button on each thread? (It has a yellow star next to it.) What does it do (if anything) and what's it's effect on anything?
