So this is the new web site...hummmm.
While I must admit the format is "purdy", I am personally more in favor of results and not glitz. Let me explain further.
The first thing I noticed was the elimination of the "view post since last visit" link on the forum home page. Right away I realized that this forum was going to be bulkier and harder to navigate than the old forum. In the past, I could quickly see there were (XXX) posts since my last visit, click on the link, and browse all the posts - from every sub-forum - in one shot. Those days are evidently gone...but wait!
I noticed the "options" button at the bottom of all the sub-forums. While this wouldn't filter everything at once, at least it was a start. So I spent 45 minutes last night before going to bed clicking on every forum, clicking options, changing the date filter to "since last visit", and moving on to the next forum. When I returned this morning, what did I find? Nothing posted in any forum other than the "sticky" posts! Obviously, the "since last visit" filter is not working properly!
So, I have now spent another half hour (I'm getting better at it) changing the date filter in every sub-forum to "within 1 day". Now I am at least getting a more reasonable number of posts within each area, but I'm still disappointed by the way this "new" forum works.
Sorry if this is overly negative, but I can't help the way I feel. I would have hoped that FSM would have gone with increased efficiency and ease of use, but evidently not.. I may not be visiting the FSM forums anywhere near as often as I used to visit.
