mfsob,

I have dial-up service and load times are very slow now compared with the old forum and the other sites I visit.

The only modeling site that is almost as slow as this new forum is Modeling Madness, tonight I did notice this forum was quicker than the last time I was here but is still a little on the slow side but better than it was a few days ago.

I hope you notice the difference on your computer as well. Maybe in a few more days it will improve even more than it already has, and I wish the FSM staff luck with this transition phase.

Run an ad blocker, that might speed you up a bit. Of course it will also eliminate the ads, but I don't ready them anyway!

So long folks!

All I know is what my experience is - at home, with dial-up, it is a very long wait before I can even start logging in.

And unless and until we get an option to turn off the little sigs and pics most people use, it's going to remain so slow as to be almost useless to me at home.

My modem connection is usually around 46k. 52k on a good day. Far from a high speed connection, but I have not noticed any issues with the site slowing down at all. If a person loads a large amount of attached images into a post, then yes, that is quite a drag. But as far as regular forum navigating goes, I'd say the new format is just as fast as any other.

... the "new and improved" forum really, really, really, really sucks. It to 10 minutes for the opening page to load on my machine - I timed it.

Two words, Finescale - LOAD TIME.

Although I am starting to give up hope of any of our concerns, comments or suggestions being addressed in a meaningful manner. And I just got my first renewal notice in the mail. Hmmmmmm ...
