If you're in the East Coast, and you've never been to it, you should visit the annual MFCA (Miniature Figure Collectors of America) Show in Valley Forge.  You'll see some figures that may interest you.  This year, it'll be on Friday/Saturday, 8/9 May.  The show and club website is here:  http://www.mfcashow.com/

Thank you very much. I'm not much of a perfect scale model-maker, but I'm a quick learner, and I have every intention of improving my skills. My favorite builds are 1/16 scale WWII figures, 1/35 modern age armor, 1/48 aircraft (all eras), and 1/144 scale gunpla, which is something I've devoted a lot of time over the last year.

I'm in the process of moving my workbench into my apartment, I'm currently building a new compressor setup. I mostly work with vallejo acrylic colors and enamel-hand paintings. I also know some weathering basics such as streaking, washes, panel lining, preshading and post-highlighting. I'm starting to use gaia color and mr. color paints because of gunpla, and I love it so far.

As of this moment I am gathering information on modern US armor and troops over Iraq so I can customize a bunch of lovely abrams tanks, paladins, humvees and bradleys. I'm mostly a desert camo nut.

Welcome aboard, Bob!  What do you like to build or paint?

Welcomed, Bob.  One thing I would recommend, due to the large number of forums in the FSM site here, is to look at the whole list of forums. In addition to virtually every genre of scale modeling, the bottom of the list contains a section called tools, techniques and painting.  There are some real gems in those forums that a lot of FSM forum users miss, because they just stick to the forum concerning their main modeling genre.
