The BBCode hyperlink format works

BBCode

Link to FSM

BBCode format looks like this ( change urX to url )

[urX=http://cs.finescale.com]Link to FSM[/urX]

Press here to go to Sprue Brothers

That's pretty neat. Yes I didn't know you could do that with BBCode. Thought it was just for linking to images hosting sites. Dunce

Trick will be filing this cool trick somwhere I can find it!

Thanks, John!

Chain link button should do this no?

John, yep, it sure is supposed to do just that. But as Stik said it hasn't worked for some time.

I've discovered that if the hotlink is the last item in a post, it does work. Also, to add to the confusion, whilst in the create new post or edit post GUIs, the links show up properly in blue and underlined. But appear as black text and no hotlink when posted. Sad

Yes it is supposed to do just that. But I know that some of the past few links that I have tried to post using the chain icon end up as text and not a hot link.

Thought it was just me, so thanks, Stik. May as well forget about linking to information that others might find useful here, then.

Hint, hint.

Yes, the forum software seems to have some sort of glitch for posting hot links lately. They will appear fine as the post is being created, but then just appear as another line of text once the post is posted.

Just for fun, not using the link button, just copying and pasting the URL.....

https://www.msn.com/en-us

It worked, until I add following text such as this sentence, then 'whammo'.

GMorrison

Good idea! Now, let's see what happens........

Edit: I see it, and the hotlink works. That just proved something, be thinking about what it is. Smile

Greg

Works great, Bill.

That's exactly why I'm experimenting. Others posts seem to be fine. Seems to be something at my end. Thinking there is an order of using the hotlink button that I've managed to mess up maybe. I used to have it figured out just fine.

Thanks....

BTW, you're lightening fast!

Bruce, that's interesting to know, thank you.

Me, is more off and on. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much.

And to add to my confusion, I subscribed to this thread just for fun to see if anybody replied, and guess what? My second post was forwarded to me via email, containing....drumroll please......the working hotlink.

Color me baffled.....

Greg,

I’ve never been able to hotlink any urls from FSM. I can with no issues anything else.

Below is a link only, without trying to have my own text being a hotlink:

http://cs.finescale.com/f/

Edit: Sort of expected that to work. It shows up as a hotlink in my edit post window, then goes away when posted.
